Baldwinsville I sort of skipped Thanksgiving again this year but it doesn’t mean I’m not thankful especially for the chance to spend my days helping provide and promote great resources and opportunities for everyone in our community. Stop in this holiday season and discover the joys of community based entertainment and education. From children’s storytimes to Open Mic, the library offers more than books, music and DVD’s including wonderful opportunities to share some great times with your friends and neighbors.
Ten years behind the mic
Scientists have recently proven that music and dancing (performing, not just appreciating) can help raise your pain threshold and increase community bonding. But the folks that come to Open Mic have known that for a while now. Ten years ago, Mick Jenkins talked us into this and despite a constantly changing cast of characters, it’s still going strong. Join us at 7 p.m. Nov. 28, to help celebrate 10 years of music and mischief from local performers hosted by Merry Mischief with technical support from Harrison Audio. Performer sign-in begins at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. We’re celebrating on the last Wednesday of the month instead of our usual third Wednesday slot because Thanksgiving got in the way but we hope nothing will keep you from the fun.
Family photo calendar
Share the joy and important family occasions with a photo calendar for friends and relatives. We’ll show you how to make one just in time for holiday giving at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 28. Visit our interactive calendar at bville.lib.ny.us to sign up for this program or any of our continuing hands on computer classes.
